Robert "Bob" Clay Vass, 94, of Adrian, Illinois, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at River Valley Place in Fort Madison.Bob was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Adrian. He was the son of Clarence and Essie (Beckett) Vass.He graduated from Colusa High School.On Nov. 9, 1951, he was united in marriage with Betty Deere in Fort Madison. Shortly after, Bob served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps in the tank division from 1951-1953.Bob spent most of his life farming. He shelled corn all over Hancock County. He also spent time driving a semi. Bob loved to farm, fish, ride his motorcycle, and dance with his wife. He was a devoted member of the Colusa Methodist Church.Bob is survived by his three children: Roger (Pauline) Vass of Nauvoo, Illinois, Debby (Mike Boyer) Vass of Dallas City, Illinois, and Mike Vass of Bowen, Illinois; 11 grandkids; 20 great-grandkids; two great-great-grandkids; and good friend Gary Watznauer of West Point, Iowa.He was preceded in death by his wife Betty V
